Youth Advisory Board Applications


The Cohoes Youth Bureau's Youth Advisory Board is accepting applications for new youth and adult members. The responsibilities of a Youth Advisory Board member include attending meetings, participating in Youth Bureau sponsored programs and events, being a positive role model and offering insight and solution-based thinking to address issues facing today's youth. Youth Bureau Mission & Goals


The City of Cohoes Youth Bureau's mission is to improve the lives of Cohoes youth and the overall community by empowering youth, offering opportunities and creating good citizens.

The City of Cohoes Youth Bureau's collective goals are to:
  • Create positive social interactions through community events
  • Build partnerships with families and youth throughout the Cohoes community
  • Implement a Youth Advisory Board, which brings youth and adults together in a solution-based approach to tackling current youth issues
  • Offer character, citizenship and Career Connection education and support

September 2019

  • 23rd: Meeting, 6 p.m. Cohoes High School
October 2019
  •  21st: Fall Mentors in Motion
  • 31st: Halloween Parade and Party 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
November 2019
  • 25th: Turkey Trot Packet Pick-up 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Cohoes Visitors Center
  • 28th: Turkey Trot in front of City Hall
  • 30th: Christmas Tree Lighting at Silliman Park

April 2020

  • 1st: Stuffing Easter Eggs
  • 4th: Easter Egg Hunt
  • 6th: Spring Mentors in Motion
  • Global Youth Service Day
  • City of Cohoes Beautification Weekend
May 2020
  • 4th: Mentors in Motion Race Day
